These drawings are taken from the live model. Some of the portraits are taken back to the studio and reinvented as a way to explore my interest in compromising the integrity of the carefully rendered subject. By defacing my drawings I gain something unfamiliar within the ordinary act of rendering the human form.
These are great Shelly. I haven’t tried oil sticks yet. It’s on my list of things to do before I die.
